If you need medical care when we’re closed, help is still available.

For after hours support, please phone us on 06 357 8061. Your call will be diverted to an after hours team who will be able to advise you on the next steps of your care. See more information about Practice Plus, available after hours, below.

Emergencies

Always call 111 if it’s an emergency.

For injuries that need urgent attention, visit Palmerston North Regional Hospital’s Emergency Department.

Practice Plus

Practice Plus is a great option for after-hours care of common medical conditions that do not need a physical examination.

 

We partner with them to provide same-day virtual clinician appointments for our enrolled patients, as an extension of our regular medical centre team.

Practice Plus is available weekdays 9am – 10pm and weekends and public holidays 8am – 8pm.

In-person appointments

If you need to be seen in-person outside of our opening hours, you can contact the Palms Medical Centre on Saturdays, 8am – 5pm, or Feilding Health Care on weekdays until 8pm, and weekends and public holidays, 9am – 12noon.

Healthline is a free, 24-hour service with registered nurses who provide advice about what’s happening for you and recommend the next steps to get the health care you need.

Visit a pharmacy

Pharmacies can offer health advice on a wide range of common conditions and medicine, such as coughs and colds, bladder infections, eye infections, minor cuts and grazes, the emergency contraceptive pill and a range of other health needs.
